Een bibliotheek is een groot idee. Maar de meeste bibliotheken worden in de loop van de tijd gewoon een grote verzameling boeken. Maar de hoeveelheid boeken is niet van belang voor de kwaliteit van de bibliotheek. Dat de bibliotheek inzage kan geven in wat er zich heeft afgespeeld dat is van belang. Dat de bibliotheek een permanent verslag doet en duidt wat de ontwikkeling is. Waar we naar toe gaan. Dit mogen zeer persoonlijke invalshoeken zijn zoals boeken schrijvers hebben. Het idee waar we naar op zoek zijn is het idee van gastvrijheid, ook in het delen van informatie. Met de inhoud als spiegel voor wat er zich al heeft afgespeeld.
Kernbegrippen in onze bibliotheek kunnen zijn participerende antropologie, archeologie van de nieuwste geschiedenis en local & global. In 2014 is er al een begin gemaakt met de aanleg van deze zogenaamde landschapsbibliotheek. Hiervoor hebben we kunstenaars en schrijvers gevraagd een boek te schenken in ruil voor een slaapplaats. We vinden vast nog andere methodes om informatie te vragen in ruil voor gastvrijheid. Onze voorkeur gaat uit naar informatie die veroorzaakt wordt door goede kunstprojecten.
A library is a grand idea. But most libraries just become large collections of books although the amount of books is not important for the quality of the library. Our library, a landscape library, needs to be able to show what was going on. And the library should permanently report and explain what are the developments of where we are going. These reports can be very individual just like most books have single writers. The idea where are looking for is the idea of hospitality in sharing information. With the information as a reflexion of what happened. Key subjects in our library can be participating anthropology, archaeology of recent history and local & global.
In 2014 we started with the creation of this so-called landscape library by asking artists and writers to give a book in exchange for a sleeping place. We are sure we will find more friendly ways to collect information. Our preference will be that doing good art projects causes the information.
